As a first time Mom I've dreamed of JP's first words. Will he take after Andrew and launch into the big words first......"tractor"? Or will it be something closer to my heart like....."Mama"?
Neither. James "official" first word was certainly "Dada". (Andrew wins this round). But lately we've noticed a couple more words working themselves into his budding vocabulary. "This"....he points to everything and anything, looks up at me and asks "This?" He is naturally curious and full of energy - a deadly combo for a tired Mom! He also recently learned "baby". While reading a parenting magazine today he reached over, pointed at a picture of a newborn and said "Bebe". He must have recognized the skepticism on my face, as he proceeded to turn the page and point out yet another "Bebe". He is growing up so fast these days. LITERALLY - at barely 14 months he can reach the door knobs and knows how to turn them. (UGH!) The trials of having a tall child!
Andrew (and Elvis) has been gone nearly 6 weeks, and even though I can't, and don't want to , imagine being seperated from Andrew again, this time apart has made me realize a few things. #1 -a snoring husband is way better than no husband, #2 -Andrew and I are blessed with an adorable little boy. Sure he loves to throw temper tantrums in front of me (I'm talking about JP here not Andrew), but 95% of the time he is all smiles and giggles, and is so friendly!! (Again I'm talking about JP here not Andrew) : )
The point is - being apart is difficult, but I know in the long run this opportunity will make life better for all of us! And even though it is difficult to be parenting solo for a few weeks.....JP has made this transition time so much easier!! I can't wait to get all my boys back together again!!!
