It's been two weeks since Andrew left for St. Louis, and even though "single" parenthood is exhausting I'm trying to stay positive and look at the upcoming weeks as an opportunity for JP and I to spend some quality time together.
The biggest difference that I see in JP lately is an improvement in his walking. He is much more confident, and it is easier to entertain him for longer periods of time. Now that he can move independently he loves to go to the park and climb on all of the playground equipment. San Diego has some wonderful playgrounds for children - even toddlers.
Today was actually a very dramatic day for both JP and I. After spending some time at the La Jolla library, James and I decided to visit the La Jolla Rec center. After being there for about five minutes poor little James took a fall and smacked his mouth on the ground, cutting his top lip. I wish I could say that I was calm about the whole situation but I was a little shocked by the amount of blood that was on his face. Thankfully after a minute or two he stopped crying and was able to drink from his cup, and wash out his mouth. Within two more minutes he was up and climbing again! This kid is ALL BOY! Sadly his little lip is all puffy and purple. I am hoping that it will look much better come morning.

Last weekend we took advantage of the sunny weather and went to Legoland. I was shocked that it cost me $67 to get in, but I was also pleasantly surprised by all of the great activities that were available for toddlers.
