When Andrew and I moved to St. Louis the first neighbor to offer a warm welcome was Zenobia, an outgoing mother of two, who just also happens to be an accompanist for the choirs at the school where I work. She became a wonderful resource for all things St. Louis including offering references for pediatricians and suggesting local restaurants.
When we first met, Zenobia shared with me that her 17 year old son has autism. I have since had the opportunity to meet Ryan, and was really touched by what a gentle soul he is. Just a few days ago Zenobia invited us to join her in supporting this years St. Louis Autism Speaks Walk. Since JP was born we have had two opportunities to participate in a walk of support. The first was the Susan G Komen Race for a Cure, and the second was World Water Day - Walk for Water. We are excited to try this again especially because for the first time JP might actually be able to walk part of this walk. That said there is no guarantee what direction he might decide to walk in, and chances are I'll spend much of this walk running after him.
Getting down to business - our goal is to raise $500 in support of this very important cause. Please consider making an online donation at:
