The day after celebrating James' first birthday we packed our things and went to Spain. We had a WONDERFUL time. Though I was doing double duty (Mommy and Choir Director) there was plenty of time and opportunity to play both roles. Thankfully my Mom was also with us to take over baby duty when I had to step into my other shoes. While in Spain we visited Madrid, San Lorzeno de El Escorial (the historical seat of the monarch), and Toledo (an ancient city about 50K from Madrid).

People in Spain love children, so they were naturally drawn to James' cheeky grin. In fact one evening while sharing tapas with my Mom and colleagues, the waitress and hostess asked if they could hold JP. Since he doesn't typically suffer from stranger anxiety (unless you are a fat guy in a red suit with a white beard) JP was happy to oblige.

Though we had a wonderful time - it is great to be home!!!!!
